Our Christmas celebration this year was fun-filled and lengthy. The second weekend of December we decorated gingerbread houses. The next day we traveled to Grandma and Grandpa Withers’s house to help decorate their tree. Following that we had breakfast with Santa at the local firehouse. Then Brent arrived from Germany on December 18th and we spent the days relaxing, playing around the house, making meals, baking cookies, and venturing out for hikes and walks. Santa also spent some time in the basement fabricating some last-minute fairy wands on the milling machine. We spent Christmas Day at our home for the first time and then boarded a plane for Ohio to celebrate with Cheri’s family.
Elli and Rory really enjoyed playing with their Ohio cousins and baking cookies with Grandma and Grandpa Stader. We prepared and consumed about 3 more Christmas diners. I was able to visit with some high school and college friends I hadn’t seen in some time.
We travelled home on New Years Eve and went directly to a party with our neighborhood friends.
Today was the first day back to school for the girls and also back to work for Cheri. I, on the other hand, am furloughed from work until further notice with nothing but a long honey-do list to keep me company.
Happy New Year!
