We were off to Uncle Bob and Aunt Pat’s place in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina last weekend to celebrate Grandma Rosemary’s birthday. I think she’s now eligible for her Golden Buckeye© card 😉
It was a nice little family gathering with many aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents to catch up with. We split our time between beach, pool and meals at the house and enjoyed beautiful weather.
Only two bad things happened:
- Our 1 hour flight home turned into 5.5 hours after storms in Baltimore diverted us to land in New Jersey for refueling.
- At the butterfly sanctuary, after being formally briefed on proper butterfly etiquette, Rory admired a beautiful butterfly that was perched peacefully on the path. She then decided it needed to die and authoritatively smashed it under her foot. We all shamefully slunk away as the attendant came to scrape it up and take it away. Then Uncle Bob got a case of the giggles.
